Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Treatment
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) involves the use of hormones that are chemically identical to the hormones naturally produced in the human body. The hormones commonly replaced in BHRT include estrogen, progesterone, and sometimes testosterone. This type of therapy is primarily used to alleviate symptoms associated with hormonal imbalances, particularly during all phases of a female's (or born female) hormonal needs, such as perimenopause, menopause, or pre-menstrual symptoms. They can include hot flashes, mood swings, fatigue, and decreased libido.
